Founded by Jacob WEISSER, the firm began as a producer of lathes for local workshops which supplied the clock making industry. As the industrial revolution took hold, JG WEISSER expanded its operations, developing single spindle machines and supplying German factories as heavy manufacturing grew. The 1950s saw further expansion and change, as the firm developed grinding and turning centres with exceptional stability and precision.
